Facebook and Social Networking…

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

Did you know that 93% of high school and college students use either Facebook or MySpace? In fact, 82% of those students log on daily. Social Networking is a part of your child’s life, it is how they communicate with their friends. It will also be the way schools and employers determine who your child is, and if they are a strong match for enrollment or employment. With over 70% of all colleges researching their applicants online prior to admission, the profile your child posts and the friends they keep will determine their future.
Facebook and Social Networking…The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is a program designed specifically for YPO families. Learn the attributes necessary to create a positive online image and
explore firsthand the results of inappropriate profiles. A recent MTV sponsored study reports that 1 in 3 high school students will send a naked photo of themselves to a boyfriend or girlfriend. How can we as parents make sure our children do not fall prey to this “sexting” trend? An open discussion with the members and their families will assist in creating a plan which assures a child’s digital profile will help take them where they want to go, not hold them back.

Inside Social Networking…

The Best and Worse Social Marketing Campaigns, And What They Mean to Your Company

With well over 250 million people around the world and 60 million Americans active on Facebook every month, big brands are beginning to market on Facebook. But how effective are they? Over 1 billion iPhone apps have been downloaded, how has your company capitalized on the iPhone market domination? Twitter and YouTube are being used to drive business to both physical and virtual market places, what is your businesses strategy to incorporate these technologies into your new media campaigns?
During this interactive workshop, created specifically for YPO, members will have a chance to take an in depth look at several successful, as well as unsuccessful social media campaigns.
